GH Sustainability A/S completes the feasibility study for a Solar PV Power Station on Taveuni Island, Fiji. The study was commissioned in cooperation Global Green Growth Institute and the Fiji Ministry of Economy, and includes a grid-connected solar power station and battery energy storage system. Once implemented the new system will help sustain 100% renewable energy power generation to the grid, along with the existing hydro-power station.
The next phase of procurement and implementation is supported by the cooperation between the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Energy Fiji Limited (EFL).
Taveuni Island is one of Fiji premier tourist destinations, with a high level of biodiversity, consisting of natural forests and ocean reefs. The Solar PV Power Station is one of the Government of Fiji’s efforts to ensure sustainable green growth in Fiji, and to meet the targets under their National Determined Contribution (NDC).
